District Going Remote Learning

January 8th

Dear Mesa Vista School District Families,
We are writing to let you know that we have received many new reports this week from staff
members and students who are ill, or have tested positive for covid, or who are caring for ill family
members.
As such, we are sorry to share that we do not have enough staff members now to continue in-person
learning. Therefore, we are going remote for the next two weeks. During this two week period
we will continue with meal service with delivery along the bus routes. Route times will remain
the same and drivers will provide a lunch and a breakfast to each student along the route at
their regular stop. We will continue with athletics and activities during this time. Coaches and
sponsors will be in contact with students to communicate necessary information.
At this point, we anticipate being able to bring back all grades on Monday , January
24. Obviously, this is an evolving situation, so please watch for any further updates.
We understand the stresses this puts on families, and we truly wish the situation were different. We
have unfortunately not been spared the challenges that schools across the nation are experiencing.
And like other schools and districts, we have a significant need for substitute teachers. If you or
anyone you know might be interested in such a position, please visit our school website to apply.
Sincerely,
Mr. Martinez
Superintendent
